Community Involvement
We value the communities we live and work in and are committed to making a difference. Our commitment involves volunteering our time, creating and supporting community websites, serving on committees, and making charitable donations. Some of the specific contributions include:
- MLK Service Project – The MLK Service Project began in 2003 to provide house maintenance and repairs, and yard work for Decatur’s needy senior homeowners. Jim Clanin, Creative Director at DoubleDome, has been a big part of this community as a volunteer since 2005 and was honored to receive one of the 2012 Hometown Hero awards. It’s a very rewarding experience to be a part of this three-day weekend every January and make a difference to people who truly need our help. DoubleDome also built the project’s website at mlkserviceproject.com in 2011 and continues to host and maintain the content every year.
- Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts – Christopher Bradley, Managing Partner & Director of Sales at DoubleDome, is proud to be an active member of The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) and has served as a judge at W3 Awards, The Communicator Awards, and the Davey Awards each year since 2009. The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) is an assembly of leading professionals dedicated to recognizing the rapidly evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. A diverse group of 600+ members from all 50 states and 15 countries worldwide, the AIVA’s mission is to honor, promote and encourage creativity by providing a benchmark standard of excellence for evaluating media design, production and distribution.
- Decatur BBQ & Bluegrass Festival – DoubleDome designed and developed a website for the Decatur BBQ & Bluegrass Festival in 2006 and continues to work with the their team each year providing new designs and updating content.
- Oakhurst Jazz Nights – DoubleDome is a proud sponsor of Oakhurst Jazz Nights. We designed and developed the initial website in 2005 to help promote the four spring and fall concert series. The concerts have become a big draw for the community and we continue to host and update the website each season with new schedules, sponsor content and graphics.
Sustainability
At DoubleDome, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact – from the products we use to the business choices we make every single day. Some of the specific changes we have made include converting all of our lights to LED or CFL. We also strive to recycle as much as possible, and are now recycling 90% of our office’s waste products.
